Reporting to the Manufacturing Controller, the Sr. Cost Analyst must work directly with the Production Units and Purchasing Function to manage all areas of financial support.  The incumbent must have excellent analytical ability and display a high level of independent judgment, decision-making, accuracy, creativity, and initiative. 




Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all areas of financial support for Production Units and Purchasing including but not limited to: financial reporting, accounting, budgeting and forecasting, business analysis and capital planning
  • Ensures that key drivers of forecast and financial results are understood by management and corporate finance
  • Creates and distributes meaningful management reporting to site operations and corporate leadership with timely reports on financial results and related business insights in support of business decision making
  • Creates monthly and ad hoc reporting including relevant comparisons and trend analysis
  • Uses fact based analysis and business judgment to proactively identify and communicate areas for operational and financial improvements
  • Coordinates the development of annual budget and quarterly forecasts for Production Units and Purchasing based upon sales forecasts
  • Partners with operations to develop appropriate standard product costs
  • Performs financial investment analysis and contributes to the preparation of applications for capital and operating investments
  • Develops and documents standard financial processes with a focus on implementing common financial processes and practices across operations
  • Maintains the appropriate environment of internal financial controls to ensure that financial statements are free from material errors
  • Supports the development and implementation of new analytical tools
  • Analyzes statistical data to identify and correct errors and to evaluate general content
  • Identifies, interprets, and analyzes potential accounting risks and issues
  • Supports financial closing processes as required



  • Bachelors of Accounting/Finance
  • 5-7 years of cost analysis experience in an manufacturing environment 
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written), and presentation skills
  • Possesses strong business analysis, financial planning, and reporting skills that generate business insights
  • Ability to interface with senior management to communicate and assess financial results
  • Excellent at workload prioritization, resource management, and project management
  • Expert knowledge of advanced Excel functionality
  • Proficiency in ProDiver, JBA/GEAC, BPC, and Manhattan a plus
